Wannamoisett Country Club
It is a Northeast Amateur tradition to offer our contestants housing for the tournament week. If you would like private housing with a Host Family please indicate such when you register or contact the committee no later than June 1st to guarantee availability. The committee will provide accommodations in private homes from Sunday thru Saturday. You will be connected with your host approximately one week prior to the start of the tournament. Private housing is generally reserved for Contestants Only.
The tournament committee will provide transportation from T.F. Green Airport (PVD) upon request. The airport is about 15 minutes from Wannamoisett Country Club and is the best option if traveling by air.
REGISTRATION AT EVENT:
The Registration and Information Center will be available at Wannamoisett Country Club beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday. Players must personally register prior to any use of the facilities at Wannamoisett. When you arrive we will provide full information concerning schedules, caddies, housing, meals, starting times, etc.
Caddies are required during the tournament rounds. The Caddie fee is $35/day plus tip ($50/day recommended) which you will handle directly. If you would like to pay for your caddie fee by credit card, you will have that option at registration. Caddies will be provided by the committee or you can bring your own. Caddies are allowed to wear shorts during tournament play. Push Carts are not allowed during the tournament.
Long pants are required for contestants during tournament play. Shorts are allowed only during practice rounds and the sponsor tournament. Wannamoisett has a policy that prohibits collarless shirts. A golf shirt or dress shirt should be worn tucked in at all times while on club property and hats should be removed when inside the clubhouse.
Contestant meals for the week are included in the entry fee. This includes breakfast and lunch Monday thru Saturday and dinner on Tuesday and Friday. We offer a meal plan for family members/caddies traveling with Contestants for the week, if interested please ask for more details when you arrive.
Wannamoisett Country Club will be available for practice Monday at 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Once personally registered, contestants may play or practice as they wish. Tee Times are not necessary at Wannamoisett. For any earlier practice privileges you must be invited and accompanied by a Wannamoisett member. The tournament committee has also arranged for use of the Atlantic Driving Range, 754 Newport Ave, Attleboro, MA 02703 (10-15 mins away). Golf balls will be provided free of charge when you present your contestant badge.
Our Sponsor-Am Tournament is held on Tuesday afternoon with a 1pm start. The field will consist of 30 foursome groups, 3 member/sponsors and 1 NEA Contestant. The 30 NEA contestants will be selected by the tournament committee, contestants will be notified at registration on Monday if they will be playing or not and should plan practice rounds accordingly.
SPONSOR DINNER & OPENING CEREMONIES:
All Contestants are encouraged to join us for the Sponsor dinner which also serves as our Opening Ceremonies. Dinner will begin at the conclusion of play, usually around 6:00pm. We will also have a Special Guest Speaker this year to welcome all of our contestants. Dress is golf casual.
